how to play 3: VERSUS MODE

In addition to the regular campaign featured in the game, Neo Nectaris provides five additional maps  ( 2 X 1 screens in size )  specifically designed for 2-player competitions. In these five scenarios, both players are evenly matched in terms of weapons and geographical advantage.  This contrasts with standard 2-player matches in the regular campaign  ( maps 1 - 48 )  that tend to favor the second player, since player two (as the Guicy Empire) tends to have access to better weapons than player one (the Union).  TRIVIA:  "VERSUS MODE" is not offered on any other title in the series.

Selecting "VS. & PASSWORD" from the main title screen will provide the following options:   1P P (where password = map name),   2P PASSWORD  ( where two players, 1P = Union 2P = Guicy, compete against each other on any of the regular 48 maps ) ,  and   VS Mode  (5 unique maps where opposing sides are evenly matched).

VERSUS mode only appeared on Neo Nectaris

VERSUS Map 1
Neo Nectaris is the only title in the entire series to offer maps specifically designed for 2-player competitions.
